He set up his law practice at 205 20th Street North, Suite 519, Birmingham, Alabama, where the firm continues to this day. In 1976, Jim Dodd's son, William Brent Dodd, joined his Dad in the practice of law at the same location and the new firm officially became Dodd and Dodd, Attorneys. William Brent Dodd

William Brent Dodd (Brent) was born in Tuscaloosa, Alabama in 1951. Brent attended Center Point Elementary in the first grade and also attended the then newly completed L. M. Smith school in Birmingham, Alabama from the 2nd through the 8th grade. In 1969, Brent graduated from Banks High School also in Birmingham. In 1972, Brent graduated Cum Laude from Samford University and in 1976, he graduated from Cumberland School of Law.
Immediately upon passing the Alabama State Bar in April of 1976, Brent joined his Dad, James H. Dodd, in the practice of law and the firm officially became Dodd and Dodd, Attorneys. Jim and Brent practiced law together at 205 20th Street North, Suite 519, Birmingham, Alabama from 1976 until Jim Dodd’s untimely death in January of 1997.
Brent continued the practice of law as single practitioner at the same location from 1997 until September, 2015. In October of 2015, Brent’s son William Landon Dodd (Landon) joined him in the practice of law and the firm once again became a father and son law firm. From 1964 to the present, three generations of Dodd’s have now occupied the same location in the practice of law.
In 1980, Brent married Dee Benton and they raised one son, Landon, who now serves as his law partner. Dee was a great help after Jim Dodd’s death as she redecorated that office and served as Brent’s secretary from 1997 until 1999. Since then she has been active in the law firm from time to time.
Brent Dodd attended Ridgecrest Baptist Church in Center Point Alabama from 1958 until 2014, when he moved his membership to Central Baptist Church in Argo, Alabama where he is still an active member. Brent has continued the same Christian tradition in the law firm which was begun by his Dad, Jim. Like his dad, Brent too loves to share Christ with his clients and is a strong believer in the King James Bible as the direct, inerrant, infallible word of God.
William Landon Dodd
William Landon Dodd (Landon) was born in Birmingham Alabama in 1988. Landon attended Pinson Elementary from first to fifth grade, Rudd Middle School from sixth to eighth grade, and finally Pinson High School, where he graduated from in 2007. In 2011, Landon graduated from Samford University, and in 2015 he graduated from Birmingham School of Law.
After passing the Bar exam in July of 2015, Landon continued the family tradition and joined his dad, William Brent Dodd, in the practice of law at Dodd & Dodd Attorneys in September of 2015- once again Dodd & Dodd is a father and son law firm. Combining new-school technology with old-school legal procedure, Dodd & Dodd is a multigenerational law firm that is able to adapt as the legal landscape changes.
Landon has been in a relationship with Allison Johnson for growing on 6 years, including the many difficult times associated with law school. Despite the time requirements, the distance between them, and rigors of a legal education, she has unwaveringly stuck by him through everything. Having someone that Landon knew he could rely on to stick by his side and keep him grounded was instrumentally important to his success in the field of legal studies.
Landon attended Ridgecrest Baptist Church from 1988 until 2015- while still a listed member at Ridgecrest, Landon actively attends Central Baptist Church in Argo. Led to Christ at the young age of 6 by his grandfather, James H. Dodd, Landon continues to practice and hone the Christian traditions and beliefs instilled in him by Christ though a loving Christian family.
